  • Describing others
  • Describing things
  • Giving commands
  • Giving opinions

AoLE Assessment and Feedback

The main focus of learning a language is Oracy, we focus on the ability to talk to each other, ask questions, describe things, people and places, greeting and expressing opinions and Weather, location and places.

We assess the progress across the year using observations, discussion and other informal methods of assessment.

AoLE Enrichment Activities

We try and make sure that the Welsh language is not an add on, the Welshness of the school comes across. We like to make links with other schools and to discover what Cynefin means to us.

We take part special Welsh days; Shwmae day, St David’s day, Eisteddfod, Welsh X factor.

Parent/Carer Involvement

Welsh is such a rich and exciting language, just have a go! Try using just a couple of words and don’t worry if you make mistakes! Have a look at S4C children’s website. There are lots of ideas to help you learn.
