Parent/Carer Involvement

Parent and carer involvement is crucial in supporting children’s learning in the Science and Technology Area of Learning and Experience. Here are some ways you can be involved:

  • Ensure children have access to books, educational websites and materials that support their interests in science and technology.
  • Participate in hands-on activities, such as building models, conducting simple experiments or using educational kits.
  • Visit science museums, planetariums, technology fairs and other educational outings to stimulate interest and curiosity.
  • Discuss how science and technology are used in everyday life and in various professions.
  • Share news articles, documentaries and stories that showcase interesting scientific discoveries and technological innovations.
  • Discuss various career paths in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
