What Our Parents and Community Say

Here, you can read about the experiences of parents and community members who are connected with our school.

Oystermouth is a wonderful school! The staff are so kind and supporting and welcoming. Mrs Morgan (head teacher) always meets our daughter at the school gates and knows all of the parents and children by name. This is such a lovely start for the day for our daughter who is only little and still in nursery. She learns so much and it’s so lovely to hear what she is doing at school. She loves her class teacher and all of the support staff and wraparound staff. She always comes home at the end of the day with news about what she has been doing and her friends. It’s so nice meeting with Mrs Morgan (class teacher) at the end of term and seeing photos, artwork, learning etc that Nia has been doing. I couldn’t recommend the school highly enough, Diolch yn fawr to all the staff there for everything they do.

Arthur has moved to Oystermouth in year 4 and we were all a little nervous about the transition. We had nothing to worry about because he has had such a warm welcome! It was the best decision we ever made. The improvement in Arthur's writing and maths skills has been amazing. The teachers are organised and communicate really well. There's so much going on at the school like clubs which have boosted Arthur's confidence. The school has a busy, active and happy atmosphere. Thank you Oystermouth!

There is no doubt our daughters are in good hands in Oystermouth, they are being nurtured and supported in a school which values every child for the individuals they are and the qualities they have.

We have been very pleased with Oystermouth and since joining reception in September our little girl has loved every minute. The teachers are attentive and pro-active and we’ve been continually impressed with the constant effort made by everyone. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We chose Oystermouth Primary following strong recommendations and have not looked back. In just a year, our daughter has grown in confidence, moving from parallel play to engaging more fully with others and stepping outside of her comfort zone. Through my profession, I have experienced a range of school settings and leadership styles, and I can honestly say I have never come across such a passionate and incredible Headteacher. I genuinely do not know how she manages everything she does. Seeing her on the gate every morning, and personally bringing the nursery children out, is such a lovely touch and immediately shows how approachable and caring she is from the very start. Our daughter is still in nursery, and her teacher is nothing short of fantastic, consistently caring for and supporting each child in the way that best suits them. The patience, openness and commitment shown by all staff has made a real difference to our daughter’s experience. Most importantly, our daughter loves going to school, which means everything to us as a family. We cannot thank the school enough.

We are very pleased with the progress our child has made and the positive environment Mr Hunter has created in the classroom. It’s clear that there are well-defined goals in place, which provide both structure and purpose to his learning. Egan genuinely looks forward to coming to class, which reflects how engaging and inspiring Mr Hunter’s teaching is. We especially value the way student success is recognised and celebrated, helping to build confidence and encourage continued effort. Thank you, Mr Hunter, for creating such a supportive, motivating, and enriching learning experience.

I absolutely loved my visit to the school over the past two days. Thank you for having me visit and chat with the children about evolution. It was an absolute pleasure. The children were simply fantastic – so polite, inquisitive, and remarkably bright. Their questions really impressed me… It reminded me how important these conversations are in inspiring young minds.

End of an era for our family as our youngest completes his last half term of Year 6 at Oystermouth Primary to follow his sister to Bishop Gore Secondary. What a wonderful 8 years they both had at this fantastic school with the most supportive Headteacher, lovely support staff and inspirational teachers. Thank you Oystermouth, we feel very lucky to have been part of this school community!

On behalf of Swansea Rotary Club, may I thank all the children and staff of Oystermouth School for their support for this years "Wrap Up" project. We have collected hundreds of coats and already distributed them through food banks and various local charities. Your support has been appreciated. Thank you and well done everyone.

Both our boys were not strictly academic, but the nurture of Oystermouth school, gave them courage to go on and forge a career in sport. They both achieved 1st in their degrees and Mitchell is just completing his master's. They are recognised sports men, and sons that still come home for birthdays and Fathers day. So this is my thanks to you all.
