I have worked at Oystermouth Primary School for the past 20 years. I have been teaching for the past 4 years, spending time in Year 2, Year 5 and Nursery. Prior to this, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in all classes.
Philosophy of Education
As a caring and nurturing teacher, I firmly believe that children learn best in a warm, friendly environment where each child is treated as an individual. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a classroom atmosphere that fosters emotional, social and academic growth through respect, encouragement and personalised attention.
Favourite Teaching Moment
‘There is never a dull moment in teaching; every day brings new challenges, discoveries, and opportunities to inspire.’
I love seeing the ‘lightbulb’ moment in children. This is the moment when a concept suddenly clicks for a pupil, and you can see the understanding light up their face. It represents the culmination of hard work, both on the part of the child and myself. It shows that perseverance, patience, and tailored teaching strategies can lead to breakthroughs in learning.
Interests and Hobbies
In my free time, I love being outdoors and exploring nature, whether it’s walking through scenic trails or spending a day at the beach.
I cherish the moments I spend with my family, especially when we’re surfing together or when I’m watching my children skateboard with joy and enthusiasm.
These activities not only keep me active but also provide wonderful opportunities to bond with my loved ones and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.
