We would like to wish all our families a very Happy New Year and welcome everyone back to the start of the Spring Term, including a warm welcome to our new Nursery children and families.
Below is a summary of key updates for the start of term. Please refer to Mrs Morgan’s email sent on 5 January for full details.
Clubs and Activities
- All lunchtime and after-school clubs restart week commencing 12 January.
- Gower Beaches Music lessons recommence:
- Brass lessons on Thursday 15 January
- String lessons and Orchestra on Friday 16 January

Breakfast Club Update
From January, Breakfast Club sessions must be both booked and paid for in advance via School Gateway. The new system goes live on 6 January 2026 and allows families to track attendance and spending more clearly. Bookings can be made up until 8.00am on the day, with cancellations credited automatically.
School Start and Punctuality
- There has been an increase in the number of children arriving late to school in the mornings.
- We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that all children arrive at school by 8:50am.
- Children arriving after this time must report to the school office.
- Prompt arrival supports learning, wellbeing and a calm start to the day.
After School Club and Wraparound Care
- After School Club bookings must be made via School Gateway by 11.00pm the previous day.
- Collection is from the Newton Road gate.
- Wraparound provision for Nursery children runs 11.30am to 3.20pm, Monday to Friday, please contact the office to book.
Illness and Attendance
- Parents are reminded not to send children to school if they are unwell.
- Public Health Wales exclusion guidance applies during the winter period.
- Absences must be reported to the school office, not via Class Dojo.
- Term-time absence requests should be submitted using the online form.
Uniform and PE
- Children should attend school in the agreed school uniform.
- PE days require suitable PE kit to be worn to school. Long hair should be tied back for PE.
- All clothing must be clearly labelled.
School Community Updates
- Vacancies currently available for a Clerk to Governors and School Crossing Patrol.
- Volunteers are needed to help develop the school garden.
- The Foodbank collection continues, with particular need for long-life essentials
