About Our Class
Croeso i’r Dosbarth Limeslade, where we learn through exploring, investigating and being curious.
We enjoy being with our friends and learning new social skills like sharing, taking turns and listening to others. We start to become independent by hanging up our own coats, learning how to put our coats on, putting our water and fruit away and looking after our toys.
It can be a little daunting coming into school for the first time but the staff in Dosbarth Limeslade provide a kind and caring environment for the children to have the freedom to explore and make life long friendships.

- Autumn Term: What’s in our Square Mile?/ How does the World Celebrate?
- Spring Term: Where shall we go in our time machine? /What if dragons are real?
- Summer Term: How do we look after our world?/What’s it like beside the seaside?

Class Routines
Outdoor Learning: we head outside into our fantastic outside area on a Monday morning. This session is completely child led. Our outside area includes a play house, sandpit, water and a construction area.
P.E./Gym session is on a Tuesday. Please can the children wear their PE kit to school.
Drink & Fruit, please bring a named water bottle and piece of fruit daily.
Story Books, the children choose and bring their book home on a Friday. Please return by the following Wednesday.

Homework
- Homework Menu is given out every half time with activities that fit into you daily lives.
- Story Books are given out on a Friday. The children choose a new story book and they are returned to school the following Wednesday.
Parent/Carer Information
- Share a story book with your child. Ask them questions about the story. Do they have a favourite character and why? What did they liked about the story? Can they think of a new ending? Can they think of a new character?
- Count from 1-10 forwards and backwards.
- Mark making is the first steps towards writing. These marks can take the form of lines, dots, shapes or patterns. You can draw with water or chalk on your patio, make patterns in flour or sand, do some finger painting or simply use crayons, pencils and a piece of paper.
- Number and letter recognition – spot letters and numbers as you are out and about. Can they find the letters in their name?
