Breakfast Club

At Oystermouth Primary School, we believe that a nourishing start to the day is crucial for effective learning. Our Breakfast Club is designed to provide all our pupils with the opportunity to have a healthy and energising breakfast in a warm, friendly environment. Here’s what you need to know:

Who Can Attend?

The Breakfast Club is open to all pupils from Dosbarth Limeslade (Nursery) to Dosbarth Rhossili (Y6). We aim to provide a supportive setting where children can start their day positively, making it easier for parents who need to manage early work schedules.

Operating Hours

The club is open every school day from 8:00am to 8:40am. After breakfast, children will be escorted to the playgrounds by a member of staff, ensuring they are safely delivered and ready for the school day.

What’s on the Menu?

We offer a range of healthy breakfast options that include:

• A variety of cereals
• Toast
• Fresh fruit
• Milk and water

Please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions your child may have.

Activities and Supervision

While the primary aim is to provide a balanced breakfast, the club also offers a quiet space for children to engage in reading, drawing, or socialising with their peers under the supervision of experienced staff members. This gentle start helps them transition smoothly into their academic day.

Cost and Booking

The cost is £1.00 per session. From January 2026, Breakfast Club sessions will need to be booked and paid for in advance via School Gateway. This updated system makes it easier for parents to manage bookings and monitor spend in one place.

Bookings can be made up until 8:00am on the day of the session and cancelled up until this time too.

Drop Off

Please bring your child to either Newton Road or Castle Road gate between 8:00am and 8:10am. For security reasons, the gates can not be left unlocked and unattended. Two staff members will ‘man’ the gates until 8:10am. If your child is to attend Breakfast Club, please do not arrive later than 8:10am.
