We bid a warm farewell to Mivvi, our much-loved Pets As Therapy (PAT) dog, as she steps into a well-deserved retirement. Since 2016, Mivvi and her dedicated handler, Dawn, have been valued visitors at Oystermouth Primary, bringing smiles and calm to our pupils and staff during their weekly visits.
Mivvi’s friendly presence in her yellow and blue PAT jacket quickly became a familiar and welcome sight, adding a unique touch to our school community. Over the years, her gentle nature has offered a sense of comfort and connection to many here at Oystermouth.
Below is a message from Dawn, Mivvi’s companion, expressing her appreciation for the time they spent with us:
A Message from Dawn:
“Dear Mrs Morgan, staff, and children,
The time has come for Mivvi to retire as a Pets As Therapy visiting dog, so she will finally hang up her yellow and blue PAT jacket and start a relaxed life.
Mivvi and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of your school and our many weekly visits – which add up to quite a few now! Mivvi started as a PAT dog in 2013 and has visited over 10 places across Swansea and Cornwall.
However, Oystermouth School has always been a special place for us since we began visiting in 2016. We will always treasure the drawings cards you made for Mivvi.
Thank you all, and a big woof from Mivvi!
Warm regards,
Dawn and Mivvi”
We wish Mivvi and Dawn all the best in this new chapter. Their time with us will certainly be remembered, and we are grateful for all they have shared with our school community. Thank you, Dawn and Mivvi!
