Oystermouth Primary pupils have been flying the flag for the school in recent athletics events, showing talent, determination and true team spirit across a series of competitions held at Ashleigh Road athletics track.
Area Athletics Competition – A Close Finish!
On Tuesday 17th June, 24 pupils from Dosbarths Three Cliffs, Oxwich & Rhossili took part in the Area Sports Competition. The sun shone on a fantastic day of sport, and our pupils rose to the occasion across a wide range of events including sprints, relay, 800m, long jump, high jump and shot put.
Oystermouth pupils gave it their all, with many finishing in the top three of their events and racking up valuable points for the school. Thanks to their brilliant efforts, the school finished in second place overall, just three points behind the winners, Cwmrhydyceirw. A fantastic achievement!
Well done to everyone who took part, and a special thank you to Macsen, Amber and Ava H. who stepped in at the last minute to replace injured teammates.

We are also thrilled to announce that four pupils have been selected to represent the area in the upcoming County Championships. Congratulations to:
Annabelle (Year 4) – Sprint
Freddie (Year 6) – Sprint
Ruby (Year 6) – High Jump and 800m
Osian (Year 6) – High Jump and 800m
Best of luck to you all – we know you’ll do us proud!
Urdd Athletics
On Wednesday 18th June, eight pupils from Years 3 and 4 took part in the Urdd Athletics event, again at Ashleigh Road. Competing in sprint, shot putt, javelin and 600m, the children gave 100% and were rewarded with a host of first, second and third-place medals!
Well done to Lenny, Matthew A., Annabel, Chiara (Dosbarth Pobbles) and Elliott, Rhys, Annabelle and Bryher (Dosbarth Three Cliffs). The children embraced both the sporting challenge and the opportunity to practise their Welsh!
Thank You!
A huge thank you to the parents and grandparents who supported these events by transporting pupils to and from the venue – we couldn’t do it without you.
We are so proud of all our pupils for their hard work, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Da iawn pawb!
