Oystermouth Primary School is delighted to continue it’s partnership with The English Centre in southern Spain, known as the “most Welsh school in Spain.” This collaboration celebrates cultural ties with Wales, as The English Centre was founded by Mrs Randell, a Swansea native who generously donated her family home in Caswell to allow the centre’s pupils to experience life in Swansea.
As part of the ECI Global Challenge programme, groups of 10-11-year-old pupils from The English Centre will visit Swansea in the spring. During their stay, they will take part in joint activities with our Dosbarth Oxwich and Dosbarth Rhossili children, fostering cultural exchange and shared learning experiences.
In the lead-up to their visits, our school choir will perform alongside The English Centre choir in a special festive event this month. Additionally, our Dosbarth Oxwich and Dosbarth Rhossili children have been invited to attend a Christmas concert hosted by The English Centre in St Peters Church, providing further opportunities to strengthen this unique connection.
This partnership promises to enrich our pupils’ experiences, celebrating friendship and learning across cultures. We look forward to welcoming The English Centre pupils in the coming months and sharing updates on this wonderful collaboration!
