Lifesaving Bleed Control Kit Donated to Our School

We are delighted to share some important news about a generous and potentially lifesaving donation to our school.

The Gower and Loughor Lions Club, a local charity organisation, has been raising funds to support Melanie James’ initiative to provide emergency bleed control kits within the community. Thanks to their efforts, our school has now received one of these vital kits.

On Friday 13 February, Melanie, Liz and Dave from the Lions, together with Doug Dawson from the Heartbeat Trust, visited the school to formally present the kit. During their visit, Doug delivered a clear and informative talk to pupils and staff, explaining what a bleed control kit is, what it contains, and in what type of emergency it might be used.

These kits are designed to help control severe bleeding in a critical situation while waiting for emergency services to arrive. We hope it is something we will never need to use, but we are incredibly grateful to have it available as part of our commitment to safeguarding and community safety.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Gower and Loughor Lions Club, Melanie James and the Heartbeat Trust for their generosity and for helping to keep our school community safe.
