Oystermouth Boys Reach Gower Cup Final

Oystermouth Primary enjoyed a fantastic day at today’s Gower Cup Boys Football Tournament, entering two teams made up of pupils from Dosbarth Rhossili and Dosbarth Oxwich.

Our combined Year 5 and Year 6 team performed brilliantly throughout the tournament and made it all the way to the final. After a very close and competitive match, they finished as runners-up to Llwynderw Primary School.

Our Year 5 team also represented the school superbly, securing a well-deserved group-stage victory and gaining valuable tournament experience against strong opposition. Although they did not progress to the knockout stages, the boys showed excellent teamwork, determination and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Mrs Harris, who coached both teams, was extremely proud of every player and the way they represented Oystermouth.

The tournament included teams from Oystermouth, Llwynderw, Mayals, Pennard, Knelston, Bishopston and Newton primary schools. It was a brilliant event, and even the grey skies could not dampen the players’ spirits.

A big thank you to the parent helpers whose support enabled Mrs Harris to take two teams. It was wonderful to see just how many enthusiastic footballers we have across Years 5 and 6.

Well done to all the boys!
