Oystermouth Primary School is celebrating a fantastic achievement after finishing 2nd in Swansea during the recent Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel Fortnight, which took place from 24th March to 4th April.
The two-week event encouraged pupils to travel to school in active ways, and the response from the school community was outstanding. To recognise this success, Roger Dutton, Active Journeys Officer for South Central Wales, visited the school to present a special prize—a brand new scooter!
Headteacher Mrs Morgan shared her thoughts on the school’s achievement:
“Our pupils at Oystermouth Primary School thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel. It was fantastic to see so many children getting involved over the two weeks, and even more encouraging to see many of them continuing to cycle and scoot to school afterwards. The event has had a really positive impact on our school community, and we’re already looking forward to taking part again next year!”
Well done to all the pupils and families who took part and made the event such a success!
