Oystermouth Primary School Welcomes Dr Andrew King for Inspiring Evolution Talks

On Thursday 16th and Friday 17th January 2025, Oystermouth Primary School was thrilled to host Dr Andrew King, Associate Professor of Animal Behaviour at Swansea University, for a series of captivating class talks on evolution. Dr King, an expert in behavioural and evolutionary biology, has extensive experience engaging with schools and the wider public through science festivals and workshops. His visit was a remarkable opportunity for pupils to delve into the fascinating topic of evolution in an engaging and interactive way.

Dr King tailored his sessions to inspire curiosity, offering a blend of interactive discussions and Q&A sessions. Each class had the chance to learn about the natural world, explore how species evolve over time, and ask thought-provoking questions that showcased their enthusiasm and bright minds.

Reflecting on his visit, Dr King commented, “The children were simply fantastic – so polite, inquisitive, and remarkably bright. Their questions really impressed me… It reminded me how important these conversations are in inspiring young minds.”
