Oystermouth Pupils Inspired by Special Assembly on Global Challenge

Pupils took part in a special whole school assembly on the 9th May, delivered by guest speaker Rachael Flanagan. Rachael shared details of an ambitious challenge she is about to undertake—the Sisterhood Rickshaw Rally, a 1,000 km journey across India from Chennai to Goa in a tuk-tuk.

The rally aims to raise £350,000 to support women and girls through projects such as building classrooms for underprivileged children, providing skills training for young women, and improving maternal healthcare in vulnerable communities.

During the assembly, Rachael spoke about why this cause is important to her and how the funds raised will help create opportunities and lasting change. Pupils listened with interest and had the chance to reflect on the value of helping others and being part of something bigger.

The school community wished Rachael well as she prepares for her journey and looks forward to hearing more about her experiences when she returns.
