We were thrilled to welcome STEAM Co. to Oystermouth Primary School for an inspiring afternoon of creativity and excitement!
Thanks to a last-minute opportunity, Nick Corston, co-founder of STEAM Co., joined us on a Friday afternoon in March to share his passion for creativity with our whole school community. In an engaging session, Nick delivered a lively presentation to all pupils, from our youngest learners to our oldest, on the Power of Creativity, and managed to capture every child’s attention with his energy and humour. He reminded us that creativity and art can fuel everyone’s passions and not just in the traditional sense.
The afternoon was rounded off with an explosive surprise – a live rocket demonstration in the school yard! Children, staff and parents gathered with excitement as Nick launched mini-rockets high into the sky, drawing gasps and cheers from the crowd. It was a brilliant way to bring science and creativity together in one thrilling moment.
Nick’s final message to our pupils was simple but powerful:
“Read, Read, Read!” – a perfect reminder of how creativity and learning go hand in hand.
